The Whitman College Climbing Center is a state-of-the-art climbing facility, featuring 7,000 square feet of climbable surface with its highest point at 39 feet. It’s widely used by students, faculty, and guests. Anyone using the facility is required to sign a liability waiver, which is captured digitally with Lilitab Kiosks.
Brien Sheedy, the Outdoor Program Manager, made the switch from paper waivers to digital waivers in 2015, installing two Lilitab Floor Kiosks and two Lilitab Counter Kiosks, all with the keyboard accessory. He then turned to Rock Gym Pro software to manage his data. Since making the switch, waivers don’t get lost anymore, and front desk staff have more time to walk the facility and interact with guests. “Overall, the staff hours are used more efficiently while allowing faster check-in by gym users,” says Brien.
The facility is in the process of upgrading the iPads and have ordered new Lilitab Head Units to accommodate them. It’s an inexpensive and easy-to-install feature of all Lilitab Kiosks—not requiring a full replacement. “I like that I don’t have to buy new kiosks anytime I have to replace an iPad model. That’s a real convenience to our facility,” says Brien. He also appreciates the kiosk’s cord-free design, avoiding trip hazards in the lobby, as well as the sleek design.
